Women Consider Personal Bathing Ritual Important to Well-Being

December 17, 2012

An End-of-the-Day Hydrotherapy Bath Relieves Stress and Promotes Sound Sleep Naturally

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, ARK. – (December 2012) -- Morning showers energize them; however, women say that at the end of the day, they prefer to unwind with a leisurely soak in a warm bath.

“Taking a bath is a way I take care of myself both body and mind. Afterward, I feel better inside and out,” said one woman, expressing a sentiment voiced often by a sample of women, ages 30 to 60, from the Midwest, South and West.

The women discussed their tastes, preferences and bathing habits in a series of extensive interviews conducted for Jason International, Inc., a leading manufacturer of luxury hydrotherapy baths. The 30-year-old company is owned and operated by Remo Jacuzzi and his family, who pioneered the industry and are considered America’s first family of hydrotherapy.

“Women value the natural benefits of a bathing ritual. This time is not so much about cleansing as it is about warmth and relaxation. They desire the sense of calm and feeling of renewal they experience when they take an hour just for themselves,” said Jennifer Jacuzzi Peregrin, Jason’s chief marketing executive.

“Hydrotherapy enhances the body’s natural healing processes, helping relax and rejuvenate muscles,” Peregrin said.  “And at a time when researchers at the Mayo Clinic tell us that almost 25 percent of all American women between 40 and 59 are taking anti-depressants, it is important for all women to consider the natural benefits of hydrotherapy for their health, wellness and beauty.”

She suggested a few ways to maximize the benefits of one’s bathing time.

Take time for yourself.  “Timing is everything. Give yourself time to prepare the room and your bath, about 15 minutes.  Spend 20 to 30 minutes in your bath. And take 15 minutes to towel off and perform your post-bath ritual.”

Preparation is key. “This time is about you. Lay out the soft, warm towels and the fluffy robe. Use aromatherapy or scented candles. Put on your soothing music.  Get your natural sponge and bath salts. Dim the lights in your warm, comfortable room.”

Select the right hydrotherapy for you.  “Different hydrotherapies engage your body and senses in unique ways. Soaking hydrotherapy stimulates contact and nerve receptors near the skin’s surface to promote relaxation. AirMasseur® hydrotherapy provides a gentle massage as millions of warm air bubbles stimulate light-touch receptors below the skin’s surface and enhance relaxation. Whirlpool hydrotherapy delivers streams of pressurized air and warm water to relieve tight, stressed muscles and improve joint flexibility. Jason’s patented MicroSilk® hydrotherapy uses new technology to rejuvenate the skin with oxygen-rich micro-bubbles that cleanse, hydrate and moisturize. MicroSilk® also produces anions, like those found in the mists near waterfalls and mountain streams, which contribute to relaxation and feelings of well-being.”

Follow through.  “Take time to finish what you’ve started with an established post-bath routine. Lock moisture in your skin by using a natural moisturizer. Enjoy the feelings of being relaxed and well and ready for a restful and restorative night of sleep.”
