MicroSilk® FAQ's
Q: What can I add to MicroSilk baths?

A: You may add bath salts, teas, oils, and aromatherapy oils to a MicroSilk bath. You will notice that the amount of aromatherapy oils necessary will be reduced in a MicroSilk bath. The oils will float to the surface and be aerosolized with the anions, rather than being emulsified in the bath water. If you are using a bath additive to treat a skin condition, be sure to check with your doctor before using it in MicroSilk.

Q: Should I put lotion or medicine on before or after MicroSilk?

A: After. MicroSilk cleans the skin even better than soap, so any lotions or creams will be removed during the bath. Applying lotion after the bath is encouraged to lock in moisture.

Q: How sanitary is the system?

A: Jason baths include a series of specially engineered features to keep the system clean including positive drain plumbing, V-Jets, purge cycles, dry air channels, and ozone (O3) to sanitize the water. Collectively, these features are known as Sani-Design®.

Q: If this is lifting impurities out of my body, where do they go?

A: MicroSilk's microbubbles bind to impurities and lift them away from the body to the water’s surface. The impurities gather around the edge of the bath for easy rinsing when the bath is complete.

Q: Where does the oxygen come from?

A: The oxygen comes from the ambient air around you. It is drawn into the MicroSilk system through a venturi and dissolved at elevated pressures through our patented process.

Q: Are gases other than oxygen present in the bath? Will they have an effect on my skin?

A: MicroSilk is fueled by ambient air, and oxygen is most easily dissolved in the water. So, all gases in the air around you are then increased in the bath, but only the oxygen can be used by our skin’s cells.

Q: If I am diagnosed with _________, will MicroSilk work for me?

A: While we have heard about great improvements in our customers’ cases of eczema, psoriasis, ichthyosis, irritated skin, rashes resulting from chemotherapy, and a number of other conditions, everyone’s skin is different. The oxygen levels in MicroSilk are safe and contribute greatly to health and well-being. Consult with your doctor regarding treatment of particular skin conditions.

Q: How long will the effects of MicroSilk last?

A: We have received customer responses giving time ranges from 12 hours up to 3 days. Everyone’s skin is different.

Q: Can I put my head and face in it?

A: Yes. The most comfortable way to do so is to use Jason’s MicroSilk Wand. The wand fits into a MicroSilk jet, allowing you to apply MicroSilk directly where you want it.

Q: If I order a combination bath, can I run both at the same time?

A: No. The cleansing effects of MicroSilk will be diminished when operated simultaneously with a Whirlpool or AirMasseur hydrotherapy.

Q: Do you clean/flush the unit? How often?

A: We recommend any hydrotherapy bath (AirMasseur, Whirlpool, or MicroSilk) should be flushed and cleansed with Jason Bath Purge cleaner or a non-foaming detergent at least once a month.

Q: Why aren't MicroSilk and its combinations available in all bath models?

A: Each type of hydrotherapy equipment has different space requirements. Some of our baths do not provide enough room under the perimeter of the bath to accept the MicroSilk and/or other equipment.

Q: Does a MicroSilk-only bath purge itself?

A: Yes. The MicroSilk system is designed to drain itself after every use, and does not require an air/power assisted purge.

Q: Does a MicroSilk-only bath have a blower?

A: No, MicroSilk produces billions of microbubbles by pressurizing a small volume of water and releasing it back into the bathing well at near atmospheric pressure.

Q: Does a MicroSilk-only bath have a heater?

A: No, a MicroSilk bath maintains the temperature of the bath water through the heat energy created when the microbubbles implode (collapse) beneath the water's surface.

Q: Is MicroSilk a multi-speed system?

A: No. A single speed is all that is required to create microbubbles.

Q: What is the voltage requirement for MicroSilk?

A: 120V

SELECTING A JASON PRODUCT
Q: What types of therapy must be considered when selecting a Jason bath?

A: Jason offers the broadest selection of bath therapy options in the market. With Jason, the choice is yours.

Jason AirMasseur baths offer a more subtle, full-body hydromassage by surrounding you with millions of warm-air bubbles. Numerous, strategically spaced warm-air jets give a sensuous full body massage with variable pulse, wave, or continuous massage action.

Q: What dimensions must be considered when selecting a Jason bath?

A: The most critical dimension in bath selection generally is the length of the bath, especially in an alcove installation. Standard Jason bath lengths are 5 feet, 5 ½ feet, and 6 feet. The second most important dimension is the width of the bath. Available widths are: 30", 32", 36", 42", 48", 54" and 60". The standard height of a Jason bath is 20 ½". Baths with heights up to 25" are also available.

Q: How do I select a 2-person bath?

A: Unless the width of the bath selected is at least 48", the drain location usually determines whether the bath can be used as a one-person or two-person bath. The drain located toward the center of the bath allows seating at opposing ends. A minimum width of 36" is recommended for a two-person bath with a center drain.

Q: What shapes should I consider when selecting Jason baths?

A: The most common bath shape is an external rectangle which can be installed in both an alcove or drop-in installation. Jason also offers many other attractive shapes such as ovals and corner-shaped baths. Baths with rounded corners or oval shapes are not usually installed in an alcove because they do not fit flush against the walls. For corner installations, corner-shaped baths or oval baths installed cross-wise in the corner angle can be selected. For special design effects, Jason offers a variety of round, free-form, and pedestal baths. For all undermount installations, baths with flat decks must be selected.

Q: What colors are available?

A: Jason baths are offered in two standard colors of White and Bisquite. Other colors are possible based on availability.

Q: What is the difference between Standard and Premier Edition baths?

A: Standard Edition baths include basic features and equipment such as touch control keypads and timers. Premier Edition baths include upgraded equipment such as an Automatic Ozone System, digital controls, and our LED Chromatherapy light system. For a complete list of features available, look at the Systems and Colors tab under each collection on the Products page.

Q: What is the electrical supply service needed for a Jason therapy bath?

A: The electrical supply needed will depend on the bath you purchase. Most will require a 60 cycle power supply with one or more dedicated 120V or 240V Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protected 15, 20 or 30 Amp circuit(s) in accordance with the National Electric Code. Please check the individual bath specification sheet for exact information.

Q: What type of service access is required for my Jason therapy bath?

A: The minimum access requirement is 30” x 17” for smaller baths, but most baths require a 36” x 17” access panel, please see the specifications table in your owner's installation manual for bath specific requirements. For combination baths, there should be access to both the blower and pump. The Service Warranty will be void if proper access is not provided.

Q: What size water heater is needed for operating my Jason therapy bath?

A: The water heater size requirements are determined by the amount of water used in bathing (operating capacity) which is approximately 2/3 of the total internal capacity of the bath but could be greater depending on the number of water outlets connected to the water heater. Specific bath operating capacities are located in the bath Specification Sheets.

Q: What is a Level-Form™ Base?

A: The Level-Form™ Base is a specially formulated and patented foam infrastructure incorporated into every Jason bath. It is essential to provide rigid support and heat insulation, to dampen sound and vibration, and eliminates costly grout work during installation.

CLEANING AND CARE OF YOUR JASON BATH
Q: How should I maintain the acrylic surface of my whirlpool bath?

A: Jason uses the best quality Lucite® acrylic available on the market today. An acrylic surface is very easy to clean and maintain. Novus No.1 Acrylic Cleaner gently cleans your bath without scratching and Novus No.2 Acrylic Polish removes fine scratches, haziness, and abrasions from most plastics. All of these products can be ordered through any authorized Jason Showroom.

Q: How should I clean the plumbing lines of my whirlpool bath?

A: Jason manufactures the most hygienic bath on the market. Our V-Drain™ Jet System is engineered to ensure maximum water drainage from the plumbing system after each use. You can also purchase an Automatic Ozone Sanitation System that works automatically to quickly destroy bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

To assist in maintaining the plumbing and hydrotherapy systems of the bathtub, Jason has developed its Jason Bath Purge Cleaner which can operate safely in all whirlpool and airbaths. Do not use the bath during the cleaning process.

Q: Can I add oils and bathing salts to my Jason therapy bath?

A: Aromatic salts and herbal extracts added to the water can contribute a sensational dimension to your bathing experience. Jason designs its products to safely accommodate many aromatherapy products. However, we do not recommend using oils in your bath, as they leave the bath surface slippery and contaminate the air jet system.
